LOVED this book! I loved Grace and Cade's story and l couldn't put this book down! This is fast paced romantic suspense at its best. I loved Grace's backstory of being in a cult and the added layers it brought into the story. Cade is positively swoon-worthy and the ultimate sexy warrior. I was immediately immersed in this novel and felt invested in the characters story and wanting them to get their HEA ending. Cade and Grace's teenage romance was so sweet, even though it collapsed as they were young adults. The author is on my must read authors' list and, if you're a fan of the genre, should probably be on your must read list as well. While this is part of a series, this is a stand alone book, however, it's so good that you really owe it yourself to read them all.

We are back in DC with the Steele clan and a story filled with suspense, dangerous people, a cult and of course romance. Grace Steele, an FBI profiler, is the cousin the Steele family took in when she was thirteen after living in a cult where her mother took her. She escaped and has overcome many obstacles but those years are still part of her. Cade Wright , best friend of the Steele family, was her rock from the moment she moved in with the Steele’s and is the man she’s always loved. But he left her behind nine years ago , and the pain and distrust still lingers. When Steele Ops, and Grace are asked to help rescue from the same cult the daughter of the vice president, Cade and Grace are forced to work together . Will they be able to save the girl and in doing so, find their HEA or will they lose their last chance of happiness? Though I am partial to book one in the series, this one was still a very good story and one worth your time. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Forever. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I don't often read romantic suspense, but I really enjoyed Lethal Redemption. It was a fast paced and entertaining read. I am a sucker for second chance romances, especially childhood sweethearts, so I was rooting for Grace and Cade from the very start. Throw in the fake relationship trope and lots of action and I was sold! This is book 2 in the series, but can be enjoyed as a standalone. I have not had a chance to read book 1 yet and did not feel lost with the different characters and background of the story/series. Grace was a really intriguing heroine. I loved her intelligence and take no prisoners attitude. Her chemistry with Cade was undeniable and their banter and back and forth was fantastic. As much as I loved Grace and Cade though, the cause of their separation didn't quite sit right with me. It felt too sudden and drastic after hearing about their supposed epic love. Second chance always has lots of angst, but I almost felt like this had too little. Yes, nine years have passed, but things flipped relatively quickly. I didn't like that things fell to Grace with the drama at the end either. I felt like Cade needed to do more groveling and play a more active role this time around. The plot of the story and discussion about cults was fascinating. I thought the writing was stellar and I really felt like I was getting a glimpse into that world. The different layers and ideaology behind the fictitious Order of the New Dawn were well thought out and made for a compelling and unique backdrop for the story. This was an action packed read and I didn't see some of the twists coming. This is my first April Hunt book, but I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series. 3.5-4 stars *I voluntarily read and advance review copy of this book*
