Susannah and Charlotte are new friends ... destined to be best friends. Susannah is a new resident in a small town in England. She is newly divorced and mom to two young sons. Charlotte is married to Dan, they have 4 sons. Charlotte may appear to have the perfect husband, the perfect family, the perfect house, but she needs someone to confide in. One of them is not who they purport be. Underneath the surface, secrets, lies and betrayals exist ... and when the truth comes out, not everyone will survive. Charlotte's secret is keeping her looking over her shoulder at all times. Susannah also has a huge secret from her past. The plot balances between simplicity and complexity. Told in alternating chapters by Charlotte and Susannah, the reader is privy to both sides of their story ... but one of them is lying. Which one? I did not particularly like the main characters at first glance .. but while I didn't like, they did kind of grow on me. There are twists and turns leading to an unexpected conclusion. Many thanks to the author / Harper Collins UK / One More Chapter / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Psychological Domestic Suspense.
