39개의 짧은 무서운 이야기 모음집. 하나 예를 소개하면 이렇다. 눈 얼마 전, 새집으로 이사 오고 난 뒤 눈이 이상해졌다. 안경이 불편해서 렌즈를 자주 끼긴 했지만 이사 오고 난 다음부터 간지러움이나 통증이 몇 배나 더 심해졌다. 안구건조증이 찾아온 건가 해서 인공눈물을 넣어도 얼마 안 있으면 또다시 눈이 간지러워진다. 참다못해 거울을 앞에 놓고 눈을 빤히 들여다보니 흰자위에 웬 눈썹이 하나 붙어있었다. 이것 때문에 그렇게 간지러웠던 걸까? 난 렌즈를 뺄 때 사용하는 핀셋으로 눈썹을 집었다. 그리고 눈썹을 떼어내자 하얀 실 같은 벌레가 눈썹에 붙어 흰자위에서 쭉 떨어져 나왔다.
