A title more appropriate than intended. I picked up this book immediately after rereading John Galt's speech (for the third time) where this phrase, "your money or your life," was explicitly used to describe the insane mentality of Collectivists. After hearing good things about it --- third hand, mind you, --- I came to the assumption that this book must be an essay and self-help guide to fight this mentality; but the truth is that it embraces it fully. I am, and forever will be, shocked to know just how many of the phrases in this book come directly from that book, Atlas Shrugged, --- which promotes the Utopia of Greed via Egoism, --- while standing directly as an affront to its message. But don't take my word for it. Answer the question yourself, if you don't know already: Who is John Galt?

I'm struggling to get through this book. She assumes everyone is a nit-witted, corporatized, consumer, with an addiction to endless shopping and no willingness or ability to save money. What a patronizing attitude. And so untrue for most of us. Uggghhh.

Vicki's warm tone and personal touch helps this book's content hit the mark and resonate with the reader. This book pushes the reader to soul search and find what makes life worth living for them and evaluate the ways they are working towards having their finances support that goal. No shame, no blame. This book will spark many conversations with you and your loved ones and invites self reflection with actionable suggestions and examples.
