I listened to this book from the perspective of an experienced mentalist. I've read dozens of books on Mentalism and general cognitive science. This book makes my top five list for books about how humans think. Jordan's use of plain speak takes a super complicated subject and breaks it down so anyone can grasp it. Jordan made points expressed in the Psychology of Intelligence Analysis, a really good book produced by the CIA after years of study. The really impressive thing is Jordan figured this stuff out while he was standing on stage talking to people. I really recommend you get the audio book so you can hear how Jordan says things. Tonalities are everything in communication.

If you're a cheapskate (low action threshold) like me, be assured that there IS more in this book beyond the free content that Jordan puts out. Chapter 7 and 11 are easily worth many times the cost of this book. I've closed a few large software development contracts over the last 10 years but the structure of Jordan's system showed me where I went wrong on the ones I didn't close. I'm already applying the techniques to my proposals and sales communications. And, perhaps more importantly, Jordan has reignited my passion for sales and my career.
