About this audiobook

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The thrilling sequel to the beloved worldwide bestseller Ready Player One, the near-future adventure that inspired the blockbuster Steven Spielberg film.

NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY THE WASHINGTON POST • “The game is on again. . . . A great mix of exciting fantasy and threatening fact.”—The Wall Street Journal

AN UNEXPECTED QUEST. TWO WORLDS AT STAKE. ARE YOU READY?

Days after winning OASIS founder James Halliday’s contest, Wade Watts makes a discovery that changes everything.

Hidden within Halliday’s vaults, waiting for his heir to find, lies a technological advancement that will once again change the world and make the OASIS a thousand times more wondrous—and addictive—than even Wade dreamed possible.

With it comes a new riddle, and a new quest—a last Easter egg from Halliday, hinting at a mysterious prize.

And an unexpected, impossibly powerful, and dangerous new rival awaits, one who’ll kill millions to get what he wants.

Wade’s life and the future of the OASIS are again at stake, but this time the fate of humanity also hangs in the balance.

Lovingly nostalgic and wildly original as only Ernest Cline could conceive it, Ready Player Two takes us on another imaginative, fun, action-packed adventure through his beloved virtual universe, and jolts us thrillingly into the future once again.

First off please don't judge this book by what the obviously transphobic reviewers have to say. There was like two lines about a trans character. I only gave it two stars because the story was very weak and obviously written to be a movie. The beginning is depressing and ruins the ending of the previous book. My biggest complaint is that out of all the pop culture from the 80s and 90s you chose to spend over half the book on molly ringwald and prince!?! I can think of a million better things.

This book saddens me.. the RP1 was a great book and I had such high hopes for RP2.. I listened to the 1st book with my children and could not wait for the movie.. But this book, well I would not let my children be subjected to such a clear attempt at bringing confusion of "sexuality" and other nonsense into my children's life.. It's sad because this had all the makings of a great sequel.. But the author decided to make it a PC hot topic piece of propaganda instead..

I absolutely LOVED the first book. This woke piece of propaganda is a far cry from what was lovingly crafted in the first book. Returned for refund. If you are an SJW or high on #metoo then you will love this. If you are not then dont waste your money. Thanks for ruining yet another story/franchise that I adored. I knew what was coming when they spoke of Jodie Whittaker being the best Doctor from Doctor who. Everything else after that just got worse and worse, right down to a twisted version of The Princess Bride called the Prince Groom where Westly is the damsel in distress and Buttercup is the hero. keep this woke garbage and give me back my money. I want entertainment not preaching. I will not PAY to be preached at.
