Ratings and reviews

Not good. Juvenile writing and hilariously bad narration. An FBI agent with a half strangled, ancient cockney accent......too funny! All the older males sounded as if they were being throttled. why on earth have a Brit narrating an American book, really really badly too? When portraying females, they all sounded as if they were on the verge of hysterics. As for the storyline, it's cheesy and immature, badly written and badly researched. Characters who are supposed to be academics, seem to have barely scraped through grade school, judging from their 'brilliant' insights and observations. Not going to bother listening to another by the same author and narrator. Just can't understand the positive reviews. Guess I'm getting picky in my old age.

Why oh why does this book have to be narrated by a British woman? Is it not an American novel?It ruins the whole experience. The narrator's voice is really annoying (sometimes too high pitched and shrill and other times too hoarse) and might be okay for British listeners who are used to the thick accent but not for someone who doesn't even watch British or Australian viewing content because of their annoying accent. I only scored it a one because the storyline was okay.

sadly, the writing style is rather simplistic and unremarksble. Made all the more difficult to listen to by a very annoying reader. A whining screach like nails on an old blackboard, detracted from a promising story line that failed to deliver realism. I didnt connect with Keri and blame that on the poor choice of narrator. As an audiobook this didnt work for me.
