About this app

Trail Treker is a map viewing tool for use with the Trail Treker map publishing service. Trail Treker worker works with clubs, tourism agencies and municipalities to make their maps work offline on end user smartphones. Once the map is loaded, you no longer need phone service; the GPS receiver in your phone will operate without phone service. In fact, we recommend that you place your phone in Airplane Mode if you are in an area with limited or partial phone service to conserve your battery.

Trail Treker will also electronically, via GPS location, show local businesses and points of interest. You can store your own points of interest as well. Key points such as survival shelters, supplies, or emergency evacuation points may be shown on various maps. Note: Only those gas stations/POIs that the member supplies will be shown.

The Trail Treker app will allow you to download any member map. If you have a member map code, the map will be free. If not, the map will be an additional purchase.

Continued use of GPS in the background can decrease battery life.

I have used this app for quite a few years. This season it's behaving wierd. It doesn't save my tracks of where I have gone. It just draws a straight line between a few points. It also was way off on the distance ridden and other stats. My average speed was not 3.5 mph and my distance was less than half of the actual distance. I have the latest version according to the play store.

Rather disappointed with the app seeing I had to pay quite a bit extra to get a picture of the map that I already own. (I could have taken that picture myself.) Would have thought that paying 4 times the amount of the paper version that the maps they would have been GPS mapping of the actual trails not just a picture of the map I already own.....

William, we're sorry the map you got was somewhat duplicative of what you had--however, we use what the local club or municipality produces. Please remember that Trail Treker will show you exactly where you're at on the map via GPS unlike your picture.

I really like this app. There were a couple of spots where I road the trails and it didn't follow the map very close but only for a short distance. I ride in Polk, Pierce and Dunn county and wish they had maps for them.
