About this show

Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Show's great (otherwise I wouldn't have the problem I do), but I'm annoyed with Google play here. I bought episode 7, shows on here I bought it and got the email saying the payment went through. However, it took numerous days for the episode to finally show up on Google Movies, or whatever it's called, and now that it has showed up it's saying I have to pay for it. I've played for numerous episodes and this is the first time it's happened, but still real annoying.

Mixed bag. The show is absolutely fantastic, but it's been over 24 hours since the most recent episode aired and it's still not available despite paying ahead. This is unacceptable and ensures I won't be paying for any shows on this platform going forward. Better Call Saul as a show though is 5/7 perfect. Go watch it. Somewhere else though because this platform sucks...

Saul Goodman was the only thing I liked about Breaking Bad. Better Call Saul's first season was funny, sad, suspenseful, and occasionally disturbing in many of the ways I felt its predecessor was trying to be, but with enough subtlety to be believable and identifiable. As of Season 2 Ep 2 , though, the writing is already starting to suffer. The "foreshadowing" is really heavy-handed and feels like a harbinger of another unending pity party a la Breaking Bad. I really hope I'm wrong about this, but as of S2E4 we're ever so slowly playing out what we've already basically been told would happen to Jimmy. Mike's story is a little more interesting, but as the big picture goes it appears we are officially back to the Breaking Bad formula of filler shots and empty conflict. If you finished Season 1 and haven't started Season 2, stop there or at least wait for cheaper streaming. I kind of regret buying Season 2 in advance, and doubt I'll continue after this season.
