I had seen the previews and thought that just like every other show, that "these MUST be the best parts", but I am finding over and over that I was quite wrong. As one who has always loved historical fiction, growing up in an area steeped in both the beginnings of our country as well as the factions that came later, and now a resident much further to the North (yes I should burn my boots for touching that dang Yankee soil to paraphrase Yosemite Sam) into the Boston area, this one has me TOTALLY hooked! After viewing the first of the videos, I KNEW that this was one that I would enjoy watching and immediately ordered the season. While one can 'see' some of the twists start to form, for me, there seems to be a sudden head-turner in every episode of something that I just wasn't expecting. My son is learning about the Revolutionary War presently and while I don't think I will be having him view all of the videos, the first one has been helpful in conjunction with his classroom lessons in learning how hard it was for the colonists based on the decisions each one had to make for loyalty to the Crown vs Freedom and perhaps loosing your life and/or family in the process based on this.

Pretty good series. If you like a good drama with a slow burn. This is it. I was late to the party on this series. It took me awhile to get into the first season. I liked it but I didn't love it. Season 2 episode 6 and I absolutely love this series. The payoffs are well worth it. This series isn't for those who can't sit still or read a book over 400 pages. Tip my hat to this show.

The previews alone, I knew this would be epic. Any historian or history lover can vouch. I love the American Revolution. Its epic time in history, the fall... or should I say, righteous anarchy against long-time British rule. The colonists taking back their land and lives, becoming a united land. Electing the first president. Its all history. And the acting and production is just phenomenal. I eat every episode.
