Excellent production all the way around, as expected with Ridley Scott producing - story, dialogue, actors, direction, costume, set design, sound, music. Awesome TV experience. I hadn't heard of the book before, but this series has inspired me to download it from Audible, so I'm experiencing both at the same time. I'm glad it's been done as a series so that the story could naturally unfold, as opposed to being crammed into one feature film. The series has definitely maintained atmosphere of the book., though I will admit being disappointed with how they chose to end the series. It seemed rush, and the commercial breaks on AMC were just so poorly timed. Regardless, this was definitely time well spent!

This is an overall great show. The soundtrack is amazing and really makes scenes eerie and creepy. The show can be slow sometimes but can take a quick turn. As you will see in most of the reviews, the acting and writing is really good. And the setting of the movie is very unique. Started out buying the first few episodes and decided to buy the whole season.

After reading the book, I decided to watch the television show. Of course, the movie/tv shows are never as good as the books but overall it seemed to follow the basics. I still fell in love with the Crozier character and was able to feel his failures and triumphs just as well in the book and show. He was done excellently as well as a few other characters. If you even 'sort of' enjoyed this show, you -need- to read the book. It is an entirely different experience.
