Season 5 episodes (10)

1 Cakes
6/22/18
Season-only
The first episode is all about cake and the pressure is on. The bakers tackle an upside down cake for their Signature Bake. The Technical Challenge tackles Paul's recipe for Rum Babas, a hybrid of cake and enriched dough. And finally, the bakers must attempt to produce a Showstopper of a cake that reveals a hidden design when it is sliced into. Who will impress the judges?
2 Bread
6/22/18
Season-only
The 11 remaining bakers attempt to make two varieties of tempting flatbread for Paul and Mary in the Signature Bake. Then they find themselves in a Technical braided twist as they bake Paul's recipe for a notoriously difficult eight-strand plaited loaf. And all hopes of staying are pinned on the Showstopper Bake, where the bakers attempt to make 12 sweet and 12 savory bagels.
3 Tarts
6/29/18
Season-only
Things are heating up in the tent as the remaining ten bakers do their best to wow Paul and Mary with some unusual flavor combinations for their tartes tartin. Then, baking know-how is the all important ingredient for the technical challenge, Mary's treacle tart with a lattice top. Finally, the pressure's on to create a Showstopper tart in order to be named Star Baker, and avoid going home.
4 Desserts
7/6/18
Season-only
This week, the bakers get their just dessert as they face three challenges for a sweet tooth. Starting off with a tempting array of decadently rich Signature tortes, the bakers then face the Technical Challenge--a main stay of French baking, the creme caramel. Finally, there's a mammoth 6-hour challenge to produce a mighty Showstopper layered meringue.
5 Pies
7/13/18
Season-only
For their first task, the bakers must master a perfect Wellington. After they've recovered, it's then straight into a fiendishly difficult Technical Challenge--hand raised pies. And as none of the bakers have used a pastry dolly before, it proves the downfall of many. With several bakers in the danger zone, everything rests on the Showstopper Challenge, American Pies.
6 Pudding
7/20/18
Season-only
This week, it's all about puddings. The bakers go all out to impress Mary and Paul with two types of delicious sponge puddings. The technical challenge sees them face a Queen of Pudding, a recipe direct from the archives of the Queen of Bakes herself, Mary Berry. And finally, they must make a Showstopper strudel that stretches the bakers to their limit.
7 Sweet Dough
7/27/18
Season-only
Facing three sweet dough challenges, the bakers start by creating their Signature regional buns. Paul then opens his recipe vault for a Technical Challenge recipe of Jam Doughnuts, and in a final bid to hang on to their place in the tent, the bakers produce a Showstopper enriched dough loaf fit for a celebration.
8 Biscuits
8/3/18
Season-only
It's the quarterfinal! The Signature Bake sees the bakers' organizational and baking skills put to the test as they attempt a huge batch of perfectly baked Signature crispbreads. The bakers then must produce six perfectly tempered chocolate tea cakes for the Technical Challenge. The Showstopper challenge tests not only the quality of the bake, but how well it works as a building material.
9 Patisserie
8/10/18
Season-only
There are only four bakers left. Each baker frantically works against the clock to deliver petits fours to Paul and Mary's exacting standards, and one of the hardest technical bakes ever seen on the Baking Show finds two of the bakers left watching their fraisier cakes collapse. It's possible to hear a pin drop in the kitchen as the bakers pull out the stops for their Showstopper choux gateaus.
10 The Final
8/17/18
Season-only
The final three bakers face the most demanding of challenges yet. To prove themselves, the finalists attempt pastry perfection with a Signature Pithivier. Then, it's on to one of the most intricate Technical Challenges ever devised--Fondant Fancies. It all comes down to their final Showstopper, creating a masterpiece with a notoriously difficult Chiffon sponge.

About this show

"The Great British Baking Show" is the ultimate baking battle in which passionate amateur bakers compete with the goal to be named the UK's best. Each week, the bakers tackle a different skill, the difficulty of which increases as the competition unfolds. Mary Berry, a leading cookbook writer, and Paul Hollywood, a top artisan baker, serve as judges. Together with hosts and comic foils Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, Berry and Hollywood search for the country's best amateur baker by testing the competitors' skills on cakes, breads, pastries and desserts, crowning a winner after 10 weeks of competition.

Netflix has the whole of Great British Bake Season 5 on August 31. I've been waiting for Google play to release the episodes..but they stopped after episodes 6. What good is that. AND NO ONE AT GOOGLE PLAY HAS ANY ANSWERS, AS TO WHY THEY CAN'T GET EPISODES OF A SHOW THAT THEY SELL. Google play store a waste of my time. I am going to request a refund because Google play can not sell me the rest of the series.

Slow releases of new episodes. As of Aug. 15th, iTunes has three additional episodes not released on Google Play. Very disappointed as this is one of my favorite shows. I would have spent my money elsewhere had I known this was to happen. I'll definitely keep this in mind when making future purchases, especially for new shows that are not completely released.

It is my absolute favorite show! I get caught up in their British accents and lingo, and I love how proper they are to one another. The hosts are hilarious and have genuine camaraderie. My favorite thing is the scenery. It's heavenly with the green rolling hills, ducks frolicking in the ponds, and sheep grazing lazily in fields of wildflowers. I have learned so much about baking and have tried many new bakes as a result of this show.
