First off, yes, this is a newer kids cartoon. It's pretty dumb in a lot of areas. However, let's look at it objectively. 1. Honest PoV from a male teenager just starting high school around the 2012-2013 years. So, it can be pretty relate-able for 14-year-olds watching (which to be honest may have been the target audience). 2. Not everyone can be a hero by just putting on a mask, and this show displays that frequently. The protagonist, Randy, may have been chosen just because he's completely reckless when it comes to self-preservation and his heart is in the right place, doesn't mean he's not going to be a 14-year-old gallivanting about the city, completely clueless as to what it means to be a hero. That's why he's learning from the Ninjanomicon that was given to him along with the mask in the first episode. 3. Yes, the bodily function/fluid jokes. See point 1. There's going to be those kinds of jokes when you've got teenagers running about. I know. My little brother was around that age when the show first aired. I have first hand experience with that age categories' antics. So. If you think this is atrocious, I get it, not your style. Just don't dis it unnecessarily.

There are so many reasons to love this series. Gorgeous, fluid animation, excellent timing and one of the best voice casts I've ever heard. The humor reaches audiences both young and old and keeps itself fresh. The overarching plot just gets more interesting with each new bit of information and the action sequences are second to none. Hoping and praying for a Season 3.
