Season 1 episodes (9)

1 Season 1, Alaska
9/4/11
Comedian Sue Perkins and adventurer Charley Boorman travel across Alaska to the notorious Dalton Highway - a dirt track built in the 1970s as a supply road to support the Trans-Alaska oil pipeline. Highway maintenance is a full time job here with avalanche units operating throughout the year. As Arctic conditions close in on them, the pair have to rely on the help of hardcore truckers for whom the highway is home. The rules of the road are: keep the CB radio switched on, don't exceed 50mph, and when an 18-wheel truck comes thundering down the rollercoaster of a road towards you, get out of the way!
2 Season 1, Nepal
9/11/11
Comedians Rhod Gilbert and Greg Davies attempt to drive through the mountainous, landlocked nation of Nepal. Starting from the chaotic border with India, they travel across the country's most important roads, from highways that maintain its cities to freshly-dug dirt tracks that connect to isolated communities. There are uplifting stories throughout, but it is a journey that is fraught with danger.
3 Season 1, Peru
9/18/11
Adventurer Ben Fogle and comedian Hugh Dennis drive a historic route from the Peruvian Andes to the depths of the Amazon, along roads built to conquer and exploit the natural wealth of Peru's rainforest. It's a rollercoaster ride of 2,000 foot drops and hairpin bends on one-lane dirt roads. At the end of this epic journey they hope to find the lost city of Constitucion. To get there, they will have to endure some of the most remote and dangerous roads in South America.
4 Season 2, Siberia
7/8/12
Good friends and fellow comedians Ed Byrne and Andy Parsons brave temperatures as low as minus fifty to drive across Siberia's infamous Road of Bones. Along the way they encounter all that Siberia can throw at them from terrifying roads of ice and deserted gulags, to the surprising welcome of the people who inhabit this freezing wilderness.
5 Season 2, Ho Chi Minh Trail
7/15/12
Sue Perkins and Liza Tarbuck drive the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, a network of dangerous roads hacked through mountains and jungles of Laos and Vietnam. Its role in the Vietnam War has left it one of the most perilous roads in the world as it is littered with unexploded bombs. Sue and Liza face a grueling drive to some of the least explored sections of the trail, with both terrifying and hilarious consequences.
6 Season 2, Ethiopia
7/22/12
Comedians Hugh Dennis and David Baddiel drive over 2,000km of Ethiopia's death-defying, bone-shaking roads in a quest to reach Aksum, known as the home of the Ark of the Covenant. Along the way they have to compete with truck drivers high on local drug khat, a calamitous breakdown, and a shortage of fuel in the middle of the night. At times, it seems like David and Hugh will need a miracle to get them to the end of the road.
7 Season 3, Madagascar
12/27/12
Driving up Madagascar's eastern coast at the tail end of the rainy season is enough to test the best of friends. Angus Deayton and Mariella Frostrup are game enough to take on the challenge. It is a route with countless river crossings, offering Angus and Mariella a terrifying variety of broken bridges and flimsy ferries as the only way across.
8 Season 3, Georgia
12/28/12
Hugh Bonneville and Jessica Hynes pair up for a terrifying road trip through the former soviet state of Georgia. Driving from the Azerbaijan border to the Black Sea, Jessica soon discovers her spirit of adventure causes Hugh a few moments of high anxiety. While the drive is a challenge all the way, the pair are transported into a land that time forgot as Georgia and its people delight and surprise them at every turn.
9 Season 3, Bolivia
1/9/13
Funny men Phill Jupitus and Marcus Brigstocke head to Bolivia for a high-altitude road trip that promises adrenalin, hilarity and drop-dead beautiful scenery.
