Imagined a nature documentary with anthropomorphism by using voice-overs to dub over the creatures. This new movie is mainstream entertainment that draws the latest discoveries of paleontology; a real gem of education and entertainment. To be honest, I enjoyed it, it was an interesting, perky, amusing, watchable experience for me. The enterprise of it's material (outside the aspects that I will talk about soon) is rich, fresh, and never leaves my mind. This was not made to be a documentary, neither is it made to be a comedy. if it was, this could've been unfunny and unfaithful to the source material. Not to mention that this film about prehistory is very modern, by using words that have not been invented yet, like butt, Mexican dances, shower, and man. There are some lines of dialogue that needs to be fixed, and use the word "tail" more often. Also there are 2 narrators and there are moments where they were talking to each other, not an acceptable concept at all, However, There are some written lines and dialogue that are acceptable and solid, heck, there are even some lines that made me chuckle heartily. The cast of actors is a solid choice to make this film a lightweight (not so serious) and exciting watch; John Leguizamo did the voice Alex the Alexornis and he is also the narrator for this film. John's perky voice has enough flavor to make the storytelling engaging and his voice can set up the mood well for a lightweight, lighthearted family movie. Justin Long voices Patchi the Pachyrhinosaurus, his voices makes his character sound cocky, curious, and young, with a touch of ambition and strength. The main predatory antagonist is the fast and fearsome Gorgosaurus; a smaller, but faster and fiercer relative of Tyrannosaurus. Using a powerhouse predator that stalks the protagonist prey that is also large and strong is a captivating concept, especially about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. Just like Disney's Dinosaur, this film has different species of dinos that nobody knows about and is a great opportunity to educate the audience about them. The CGI animation work/special effects for the dinos are absolutely top-notch; the detailed skin and feathers, the skin stretching, and the muscle movement, all excellent. There is some emotion provided by the eyes, the body movements, and the voice acting. The real landscapes is a great area to make films about prehistory and it is such a sweeping beauty to look at, and that includes the imagery and how the spectacle was made. The music score is so full-bodied and very engaging, not only that it is a rich and dynamic ride for the ears, but the music also emphasizes the mood and storytelling, and it supports the movies running theme of heroism and the genre of family entertainment and coming-of-age. The story is not going for a repetitive rip-off like the land before time or Disney's dinosaur, instead, it is a coming-of-age migration story and like the narrator says: "Every fossil tells a story," and it did. So, the construction of this film is an realistic dinosaur movie with a touch of "Ice Age" and "Whispers: an elephant's tale" without going for an approach on documentaries and comedies. No wonder that this dinosaur movie is totally modern, but it should not be taken seriously. The movie is not very serious nor a foolish joke; a perky diversion that has the definition of pure lighthearted family friendly entertainment with just enough action to keep the kids entertained. Was I annoyed by this film? Not that much, but kind of. But was I perked up, engrossed, and having a good time watching this film? Sure! This movie definitely has it's flaws, but I was not agitated or bothered by it either. Recommendation: worth a solid rental.

Seriously that I think this movie couldn’t exist on Netflix for this year and 6 years ago. This movie sounds funny when I purchased this movie on dvd for $14.99 about July 2, 2014. Never seen that I looked impossible but unfortunately please listen to our announcements in this movie when it’s not cheap. Gosh it’s not that good. However, please fix this missing report due to violence. Our lives and the kids will watch as many times offline as you want cause it’s not on Netflix kids anyway! Anything else you need to do about your concern needed at request for the money!

This movie would have been better if the dumb bird didn't talk through the whole movie. It also would have been a heck of a lot better of the mouths moved. The acting was absolutely terrible. I guess it was an ok story line, and I do have to say that the animation was increadible but that is the only reason I give it 2 stars. I thought it would be more like the disney movie "dinosour", and I wanted to walk out so bad.
