About this movie

Based on the best-selling novel, The Hate U Give tells the story of Starr Carter, who lives in two worlds: the poor, black neighborhood where she resides and the mostly white prep school she attends. This uneasy balance is shattered when she witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood friend by a policeman. Facing pressures from all sides, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what’s right.

The great education system forced the students to read and watch this as opposed to studying the great novel, "To Kill A Mockingbird", to display racial disparities. This movie makes cases that are as ignorant as they are idiotic. We were taight to disapprove of police officers as they ALWAYS target Black people and to allow emotions to cloud morality and logical arguements. Instead we whittled down a difficult issue and make ignorant claims based on emotions as opposed to facts of the cases.

The message this movie sends is both racist and ignorant, how can anyone see this as progressive? It paints the black community as unassuming passivists attacked by the powerful white boogeymen with badges. It makes for a good fictional tale, but nothing more. The way this picture distorts the social undertones in the real world is distubing. It obviously patronizes the SJW/liberal community by enforcing their belief that the establishment is racist. Another shovelful for the maggots, 0/10.

The movie in it's totality shed light on police needing training to better react with their communities, but it also incited a wave of hatred and racism from the black community. Racism is ignorant and both sides are guilty. We're all trying to heal and change which is difficult to do with propaganda like this further dividing us. Instead of destroying your cities, like you do your block why not march through your communities, clear out the drug houses, and fix your neighborhood. Be the Change!!
