After serving eighteen months in prison, Leonard returns home to the Black Creek First Nation in southern Canada. His house has been trashed and his girlfriend is nowhere to be found. He has no plan for the future but it turns out that he doesn't need one once Bill knows he's home. Bill runs Black Creek's drug-dealing operation running through the community's sovereign border with Clear Lake, a reserve located in Minnesota. Reed, Bill's counterpart in Clear Lake, makes him an ultimatum - either expand the operation into western Canada or get left behind. Bill suspects Reed has already been smuggling more drugs into Canada by using a small town tire shop as a drug stash house. He decides to make the first move against Reed by forcing Leonard to take out Pat, the shop's owner. Once Leonard arrives at the shop however he makes a startling discovery that will have repercussions for all those involved.

Ratings and reviews

Loved this movie. Great to see a non-stereotypical Native American production filled with grit and suspense. The compelling storytelling is enhanced by really enthralling cinematography. If you’re a fan of Coen brothers style movies you’ll like this.
