About this movie

In this suspenseful sci-fi thriller, Keanu Reeves stars as William Foster, a neuroscientist on the verge of transferring human consciousness into a computer when his wife (Alice Eve) and beloved family are tragically killed in a car crash. Desperate to resurrect his family, William recruits a fellow scientist (Thomas Middleditch) to help secretly clone their bodies and create replicas. When William learns that he can only replicate three of the four family members, he makes a decision with fateful consequences.

If you saw (like I did) Arnold Schwartzenegger's The 6th Day; Johnny Depp's Transendence; and the Bruce Willis movie Surrogates; not to mention the 2004 movie Godsend (Greg Kinnear Rebecca Romjin; Robert DeNiro); you'd say this movie was a mismash combination of all of those movies. Which is why this particular movie with Keanu Reeves doesn't garner much praise. Every element of the movie has been done already by other movies that focused on at least one element.

Had potential but failed to live up to it. Had plot holes you could drive a bus through, felt super rushed, and worst of all the "replica" cgi was awful for a movie in 2019, looked like it was out of 1984. Which makes no sense considering how good their high-tech altered reality interface looked.
