About this movie

A young athlete whose running days might be behind her, a compulsive liar, a shy researcher, a bitter old woman, and a little girl with a big secret-the only thing they have in common is the annual Wind Festival in Fula City. The festival celebrates the Legendary Pokémon Lugia, who brings the wind that powers this seaside city. When a series of threats endangers not just the festival, but all the people and Pokémon of Fula City, it'll take more than just Ash and Pikachu to save the day! Can everyone put aside his or her differences and work together-or will it all end in destruction?

What a turnaround. For years the Pokemon movies have been sticking to a simple, repetitive formula, but with the advent of last year's I Choose You things have definitely been mixed up for the better. While that film had its share of flaws, it seems like they addressed them all for this film! The story is well crafted (even if scaled smaller than previous entries), and the characters are fantastic and all get serviceable amounts of development, the animation is fantastic (with a few hiccups like CGi crowdshots) A major factor in my enjoyment is how accurate this movie's English dub was for once. Previous entries have had differences in the scriptwriting (such as adding in cheesy puns where there previously weren't in the Japanese version) and would often replace the background music almost entirely, changing the intended tone of many scenes and removing Nostalgic tunes that viewers would otherwise recognize. Thankfully, the script is very accurate this time, and all the music is kept intact from the Japanese version. The voice acting was also excellent. For sure, this is the best dub product produced by the good folks at TPCi and DuArt. Would strongly recommend for any Pokemon fan.

I heard that producers' of Attack on Titan and the Magus Bride helped coproduce this film and they didn't disappoint. I haven't enjoyed a Pokemon movie and wanted to buy since gen 3 movies. I loved how they began the film with the introduction of the female lead and ash played more of a supporting role which was nice. Overall it was very well put together movie and I can't wait to watch the next one. This one is worth buying.

Amazing. This movie was amazing. It had good voice actors and the art was beautiful. The comedy in it is actually good and not like Sun and Moon. Honesty I have to say it kinda reminded me of how the show used to be, witch is good. I have nothing huge against Sun and Moon other than it's disappointing but this movie was really nice. Everyone had a good story and I actually liked the legendary. Usually I don't. Nothing seemed to bother me that much which is surprising because I criticize a lot 😅.
