Andy Serkis deserved an Oscar, the best trilogy since The Lord of the Rings. The first one is really good, and the second and third get even better. Really respectful of the original 5 movies, the technology enhances the movie, this one uses the CGI correctly in every sense of the word. Is clear that Matt Rheeves read or watched the movie adaptation of Bridge to River Kuwai (however is written), multiple times, which is the other movie based on a book by the autor of the Original novel of Planet of the Apes. And also, Ceasar also has parallels to Moses in the Ten Comandments (the other major movie role of the star of the original film, Charles Heston). He really went the extra mille, and Andy Serkis too. This is the perfect prequel trilogy, because it works as a perfect prequel to the Original series, if you want to interpret it that way, other, than being in modern day (but a ship could had been lost in the 70´s while the simian apocalypse began 30 years later). . Honestly didn't watch any of them until recently. Had no expectations but the trailers for War looked good so thought I would give them a try. I was blown away by how amazing this trilogy is. I never expected to love them the way I have and wish I saw them in theaters. Rise in particular has a special place in my heart for some reason and could watch it countless times. Dawn was very good as well, though to me not as good as Rise. War though was also amazing and was an amazing finale to the trilogy, and pretty intense honestly. Would highly recommended them to anyone, even if you haven't considered them like I hadn't once.

A great trilogy to keep you wanting more. The soles in this film, adjusted by CGI were very life like. You could feel empathy for them being creatures not of their own making. I found myself rooting for the apes the entire series. Wasn't really impressed with the second one but wasn't disappointed either. It seems each movie was darker than the last.
