About this movie

Superman takes to the skies once more as Henry Cavill dons the mantle of the Man of Steel -- wrestling with a past he can't comprehend and a future he cannot escape. With an all-star cast that includes Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Clark's earthbound parents; Oscar® winner Russell Crowe as Superman's Kryptonian father; Amy Adams as Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane; Laurence Fishburne as editor Perry White; and Michael Shannon as Superman's otherworldly archenemy General Zod, the sky's the limit for the last son of Krypton. Alive with the directorial stylings of 300's Zack Snyder and the production team behind Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel offers up an entirely new Superman: alienated, misunderstood, but forever a beacon of hope for all humanity.

Two hour's worth of explosions with 20 minutes worth of plot. There was potential here, but the interesting bits of story are glossed over. Significant liberties were taken with the how Krypton is presented, which seemed incongruous with the original lore. The actors do a good job, but again, there isn't much acting. Most of the movie is 2-3 people wailing on each other in mid-air. Man of Steel is the worst Superman movie I've seen. There are few movies I would want my time and money refunded, and this is one of them.

I hate hate hated this. It is not a movie. It is a bunch of buildings blowing up and people dying offscreen by the thousands. That is not why I hated this however, it is merely what you will watch. Exploding visuals. Action sequences are not movies. Scenes with characters interacting make up movies. This was a series of fights connected by sequences that have no relevance. This is not superman. Superman is not vengeful, superman is not petty. This character is small, weak, quick to anger. Those are not the qualities of superman and those qualities reveal Zach Snyder has no understanding of the character or no respect. At one point Clark Kent is in a Canadian or Alaskan Bar and has a bad interaction with a patron. In response, Superman wraps his truck around a pole. Like a cowardly baby.

Worst superhero movie of all time. Not only does this movie completely ignore the essence of superman and who he is as a person... but the plot is ABSOLUTELY NONEXISTENT. Superman mopes about his life for an hour of the movie, then for the second hour of the movie (by the way I'm being completely literal when i say an entire hour of the movie) we see zod slam superman into building and we see superman doing the same thing with no regard to the lives of the people. Zod at one point pushes a gas truck into superman and instead of stopping it he just jumps over it and lets the truck demolish the entire building behind him. Let me save you 10 bucks, superman begins to fly, metropolis is blown up, zod dies
