About this movie

Ex-military investigator Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) leaps off the pages of Lee Child’s bestselling novel and onto the big screen in the explosive thriller the critics are calling “taut, muscular, gruff and cool”*. When an unspeakable crime is committed, all evidence points to the suspect in custody who offers up a single note in defense: “Get Jack Reacher!” The law has its limits, but Reacher does not when his fight for the truth pits him against an unexpected enemy with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.

A Mystery/Thriller that lacks both mystery and thrills. There's nothing keeping you watching; I had to watch the movie over two nights, it became so boring. The plot really goes nowhere. It takes them two hours to discern something the audience knew from the first scene: the whole thing was a setup. That isn't a spoiler. First scene of the movie, we're shown one person committing a crime, and another getting blamed. All that's left is two hours of canned and unnatural dialog, with 0 character development.

A combo of the worst acting, writing, plot-line, action/ effects, and props I've ever had the misfortune of witnessing! The end is Cruise running through a construction site in a classic torrential downpour, with a shoddy plastic G36 carbine that he's holding like a pistol with arm extended. No recoil when he shoots the 32 bad guys in a row, as they're a unloading AK's and the ricochet sound effects are right out of 1930's western! I was left wondering if they made it that bad on purpose... ? I puked...

I am a huge Lee child's fan and love the jack reacher series but this movie is far from anything like the book. Most obvious example is that jack Reacher is 6'5" tall and weighing between 220 and 250 pounds in the book and Tom Cruise is 5`7". Writing feels rushed and some unbelievable acting. Would not recommend for renting but would wait for it to arrive on cable on TV
