About this movie

It is twenty-thousand years ago. The Earth is a wondrous, prehistoric world filled with danger, not the least of which is the beginning of the Ice Age. To avoid a really bad frostbite, the planet's majestic creatures - and a few small, slothful ones - begin migrating south. The exceptions are a woolly mammoth named Manfred, and a terminally lazy sloth named Sid (John Leguizamo). When Sid "adopts" Manfred (Ray Romano) as his protector, the mammoth tries everything he can to unload his newfound baggage. But that's only the beginning of his frustrations: Manny has been roped by Sid into helping reunite an abandoned human baby named Roshan (Goran Visnjic) with his family. They are joined by Diego (Denis Leary), a sinister saber-toothed tiger who befriends Sid and Manny, all the while seeing the infant as a tasty treat. As Sid, Manny and Diego make their way across the vast, ice-covered landscape, another creature, a prehistoric squirrel/rat known as Scrat, tries desperately to carry out his mission in life - to bury an acorn - which, alas, triggers calamitous events.

I was very surprised to see this pop up on my youtube account as something I had bought for 12.99, I freaking out going through all my transaction history trying to figure out where this came from... Turns out a recent android device activation must have gave me this (and a planet earth film) for free... Very confusing Google, PLEASE FIX! Maybe this review will help others who see the same thing. Also, it was a good movie, haven't watched it in a few years.

I'm not sure why Google decided this was the perfect movie for shipping with my Nexus 7 but it's pretty much garbage from beginning to end. The ONLY entertaining part is some kind of squirrel critter that is chasing after an acorn. That lasts only a few minutes. The other 75 minutes is as entertaining as oral surgery. Why can't I delete this or exchange it for something that I might actually want?

When I bought a Nexus 7 I got this for free. I did not know this when I looked at my movies on YouTube and saw that I had purchased a movie for $14.99! Google, please notify everyone that you get this movie and some other Planet Earth thing free with your Nexus 7! I was very worried someone had hacked into my account! Sorry, not much of a review. The movie is great, though!
