About this movie

Although there have been numerous screen versions of Bram Stoker's classic tale, none is more enduring than the 1931 original. The ominous portrayal of Count Dracula by Bela Lugosi, combined with horror specialist director Tod Browning, help to create the film's eerie mood. Dracula remains a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time.

This is a film that revolutionized the genre of horror, skyrocketed both Bela Lagosi and Universal in long lasting fame. Although it can be slow at times it is still worth watching for the history it entails alone. This is truely one of the best films of all times, and set the norm for how Dracula would sound and move. This is one of the best performances from all actors involved minus a few. The movie is amazing from the introductory monologue alone, which sends shivers down my spine every time I watch it.

One of the greatest monster movies of all time. This Google release is, however, a major disappointment. With all the effort Universal went to to restore the film to its glory, Google's offering is repleat with pops, clicks, buzzing, weathered visuals, etc. A copy that has had trouble withstanding the effects of time. Save your money and look for a better, restored copy.

After all these years still one of my all time favorite Classic Horror films. A film that started the Universal Monster genre and inspired countless remakes and re imaginings. Bela Lugosi is amazing and so is Dwight Frye. You can never beat a classic! " Listen to them.. creature of the night.. what music they make..!!"
