About this movie

A mysterious black cloud kicks Haruyuki and his friends out of an online game. Unable to reenter, they discover this isn’t an isolated incident—the cloud is spreading. Haruyuki and the others soon learn that to protect the bond that connects them, they must confront an ancient being that's been sealed away since the dawn of the “Accelerated World”!

This movie is a blasphemous failure of a new chapter to the Accel World franchise. The first half of the movie is an incomplete recap of what happened in the anime, as if the audience didn't already watch the first half of season 1. The second has an all original plot... that's set long after the end of season 1 and includes characters that only light novel readers recognize. I admit I liked that part, but I read the books. This isn't the continuation we need; it's a black mark on the series.
