Clarence Shuler

Clarence is husband to Brenda, father to 3 young adult daughters (he the minority in their sorority), author, marriage counselor, speaker, and life coach. He is the President/CEO of BLR: Building Lasting Relationships (BLR). For nearly 30 years, Clarence and Brenda have conducted marriage, men's, women's, and single seminars throughout the United States and internationally. They are members of Dennis Rainey's FamilyLife Marriage Speaker Team. Clarence assists the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (Administration for Children & Families) with its National African American Healthy Marriage Initiative. They have also conducted Marriage Retreats for the military. They help couples overcome affairs, especially military couples. As an Executive Life Coach, Clarence helps executives effectively manage their personal and professional lives as well as fulfill their life-long dreams. He's been featured several times in Essence Magazine, Discipleship Journal, Black Enterprise and numerous radio programs.As a Diversity Consultant, he has assisted numerous clients through his diversity seminars and/or hiring people of color and women in decision-making positions including the War College of U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army Equal Opportunity Advisors (European-based), Evangelical Free Church of America, Moody Bible Institute, Navigators, Association of Christian Schools International, Harvest Bible Chapel, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Crowell & Orchard Foundations, and Mississippi Valley State University (Historically Black College). These are just a few of BLR's diversity clients.Clarence has authored including co-authored and second editions, 8 books. His first book, Winning the Race to Unity: Is Racial Reconciliation Really Working?, inspired Wheaton College's first Civil Rights Movement Conference in which Dr. Shuler was the Keynote Speaker.Clarence now is working with men. Helping them in their relationships with each other and women.Clarence loves hanging with his family, tennis, swimming, and writing. And he loves having fun and laughing.He hopes to spend time traveling and speaking about his upcoming books on relationships for married couples and for singles.
