What I believe the theme of this book is that you do not have to be related by blood to be a family. Throughout the story, Maximum Ride, Iggy, Fang, Gasman, and Nudge all risk their lives and go to extremes to save their friend Angel whom they consider to be a sister. All of them live together as a family and will do anything for the others safety just like a family. What the author did well throughout the story is show how much Max, Fang, Nudge, Iggy and the Gasman care about Angel because of the extremities they go to to save Angel and the emotion and care they show for her and eachother which represents that of a family. Some things I don't like about the book is the coloquiality of the book and how the author tries a bit too hard to related to young readers. I do know some people that the book could relate to in terms of vocabulary like the vocabulary and narrative that Max gives throughout the book but in my case, the vocabulary does not relate to me and I wouldn't mind if the book were more proffesional in the case of Max's first-person point of view throughout Max's parts throughout the story. I would recommend this book for those who like books in a series such as Cirque Du Freak, Twilight, and Night Runner but not for those who wish to expand their vocabulary through reading because of the coloquiality of the majority of the book and the reading level of the book.

How to describe this book? It is thrilling, and a page turner. You are guaranteed to fall in love with the characters. I think Fang is really cool, a type of guy I wouldn't mind seeing. I love how Max is so sarcastic and down to earth. I am not so sure about Angel, there's something about her that I just can't trust...

I really enjoyed this book. It was very well written, and quite funny. The characters all seem appealing (well, the Flock, not so much the evil scientist people.). I enjoyed how it had just a touch of romance, and tons of adventure. That is something I look for in a good book, and this one was spot-on.
