i really like this character and its the first fantasy/detective novel that i've read. i found the supernatural pieces well thought out, inventive and consistent. it really added a great dimension to the detective novel, which has begun to get stale for me. i've since read several other authors but none quite as Carey. i've now read all the Felix Castor novels and have been really happy.

Very interesting and unique. It is more than worth the price of admission.

M. R. Carey has been making up stories for most of his life. His novel The Girl With All the Gifts was a USA Today bestseller and is a major motion picture based on his BAFTA-nominated screenplay. Under the name Mike Carey he has written for both DC and Marvel, including critically acclaimed runs on X-Men and Fantastic Four, Marvel's flagship superhero titles.
