Having read all 6 books in this series, I looked forward to reading The October Horse and i was not disappointed. Rich in all the fine historical details that graced the entire series,Colleen McCullough brings the end of Julius Caesar"reign to life up close and personal. His assassination is written in heart wrenching detail. Her portrayal of Cleopatra is fascinating.Very different from the Hollywood version and very credible. An excellent read!

This is one great book of one great series of books. Enjoyed each and every one.

The last book in a six part series on the fall of the republic. Colleen McCullough also wrote a seventh Roman book titled Anthony and Cleopatra.

About the author

Colleen McCullough, a native of Australia, established the department of neurophysiology at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney before working as a researcher at Yale Medical School for ten years. She is the bestselling author of numerous novels, including The Thorn Birds, and lives with her husband on Norfolk Island in the South Pacific.
