This book is INTENSE. I thought I had read "tortured hero" in the past. Boy, was I wrong! None of them comes close to Fuery. His battle with darkness was incredibly emotional, especially when it came to how it affected Shaia. As always, I'm a TOTAL sucker for the "fated mate" thing, and this book had it in spades. I LOVED reading their love-at-first-sight and the subsequent connection Fuery and Shaia felt to each other. Felicity really did an excellent job describing the anguish felt by Fuery and Shaia respectively, and while it was heartbreaking to read, it made the happy ending that much better. I LOVE this series!!! (I received a copy of this book in consideration of an honest review)

Fuery' story was explosive. So intense and the battle that rages within himself has him falling into an even darker hole. He has lived centuries believing he killed his fated mate. Shaia has searched for centuries for her mate. She had for a long time believed him dead, but she feels their connection. She failed him once by keeping her family happy however she is going to set things right if she can? I have loved every book in this series, but I think this is one of my tops. I love the Elves in this world. However, Fuery has my heart.

The best in this series: definitely heartstopping and a tear jerker too boot! Really enjoyed it, couldn't put it down. Thank you for such a good read.
