On March 16, 2018, just twenty-six hours before his scheduled retirement from the organization he had served with distinction for more than two decades, Andrew G. McCabe was fired from his position as deputy director of the FBI. President Donald Trump celebrated on Twitter: "Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI - A great day for Democracy."

In The Threat: How the FBI Protects America in the Age of Terror and Trump, Andrew G. McCabe offers a dramatic and candid account of his career, and an impassioned defense of the FBI's agents, and of the institution's integrity and independence in protecting America and upholding our Constitution.

McCabe started as a street agent in the FBI's New York field office, serving under director Louis Freeh. He became an expert in two kinds of investigations that are critical to American national security: Russian organized crime—which is inextricably linked to the Russian state—and terrorism. Under Director Robert Mueller, McCabe led the investigations of major attacks on American soil, including the Boston Marathon bombing, a plot to bomb the New York subways, and several narrowly averted bombings of aircraft. And under James Comey, McCabe was deeply involved in the controversial investigations of the Benghazi attack, the Clinton Foundation's activities, and Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server when she was secretary of state.

The Threat recounts in compelling detail the time between Donald Trump's November 2016 election and McCabe's firing, set against a page-turning narrative spanning two decades when the FBI's mission shifted to a new goal: preventing terrorist attacks on Americans. But as McCabe shows, right now the greatest threat to the United States comes from within, as President Trump and his administration ignore the law, attack democratic institutions, degrade human rights, and undermine the U.S. Constitution that protects every citizen.

Important, revealing, and powerfully argued, The Threat tells the true story of what the FBI is, how it works, and why it will endure as an institution of integrity that protects America.

A shocking story. From detailed workings of the FBI procedures pre and post 9/11 to fascinating insight into the Russian maffia to details into the FBI training academy in Quantico, Virginia to what it was like navigating the shady political reality in Washington DC, not just with the idiotic Trump administration but with the totality of politics, this book was a page turner. I wanted to keep reading it until it was finished. What the government did to McCabe is a disgrace as he is a hard working Patriot who gave years of amazing service to the United States. What President Trump did with his false Tweets to McCabe and his family is a dirty disgrace. It's just one of the abhorrent things the clueless Donald Trump has done. One thing I clearly gleaned from Andrew McCabe's book The Threat is that President Trump is a corrupt "leader" bully and the Republicans are cowards and afraid to stand up to his bullying.

This guy approved the use of falsfied documents to start an investigation into "russians supporting trump" while everyone knows russias been hacking and influencing our elections since the cold wars. Not to mentiom the fact the russians had a huge fued with hillary and wanted her to lose, not caring who won as long as it wasn't her. I mean get real people if trump was for russia he would not have cut energy depency for us where we import it from russia among other nations. Along with urging the euro uniom to strengthen and do the same. Russias economy is 80% energy based. His whole presidency was about making us the dominat energy supplier aka. Cutting russia down. America needs to come out of the rabbit hole the media and certain people drag them down on both sides. Come out and see the sun and feel the truth, its refreshing i assure you.

Propoganda. The FBI had been proven as criminals and exposed by snowden, they do not "Protect" anyone hence your anti trump angle being your only validation, despite the fact that trump has also exposed the FBI, your lies are out and your book is a buzzword salad Russ, your cowardly tantrum to attempt to "Bully" trump and republicans into giving into your russian hoax failed and your clueless ranting failed to make your failure any less clear
