About the author

Vinod Narayanan is an Indian writer. He was born on March 24, 1975 at Thripunithura in Ernakulam district, Kerala state in India. His father Chottanikkara Velumbarambil Narayanan and his mother Thrippunithura Eroor Vaniyathuparambil Omana. He studied in Chottanikkara Govt Arts College and Thripunithura Govt College. After graduating in history he became a journalist. Now he is an independent writer and screenwriter. Five short films were scripted and screened in various international film Festivals and won awards.


The first novel ‘Mayakkottaram’ (The Magic Palace) was published in 1999 at Manorajyam weekly. He has published forty short stories in different periodicals. More than 160 books have been published by various publishers. The main books are “The Red” (novel), “Double murder” (Novel), Mandarayakshi (Novel), Mumbai Restaurant (Novel), Nayika (Novel), Kamika (Novel), Welcome to Kochi (Novel) and other Malayalam books. Black night gown (Film script), Incest (Stories), the imagination of secret lover (Stories), Talking birds (Stories) are his English fictions. Also he wrote 60 children’s books.
