Ashley is a computer expert brought in along with her partner to assist in this operations. From the start Lucas is intensely attracted to her, and as they work together soon the lines between duty and personal become blurred. As suspicions rise and Ashley's secret past comes back in nightmare fashion, suddenly trust and lives are on the line again. With the clock ticking faster, can the truths of the past help or hurt? Can they shut down this operation successfully, or will it all be over? Cold Secrets is a fast moving, intense read. Toni Anderson knows her subject well and this shines through with the realistic feel I got from Cold Secrets. I really liked the main characters - Lucas and Ashley. The heat between them simmers off the pages, even as the horror of the suspenseful plot kept me on edge. Ashley was a very mysterious character, and I liked how Toni Anderson played her character and her secrets out. I never would have guessed! Her character was amazing! I really liked Lucas too. He is honorable, strong, and protective, and ultimately this operation comes first. Together the attraction between them is palpable. The conflicts and inner turmoil, and especially the secrets really made them feel real. Cold Secrets really makes you think about the bad out there in the world, and all those people who quietly work to protect us. The plot is believable and horrifying, and I had a lot of different emotions as I read Cold Secrets, and my heart was really in there. The pace if steady and this suspenseful romance made my heart beat faster. Cold Secrets is part of Toni Anderson's Cold Justice series but can definitely be read as a stand alone. There are some characters that reappear from other books, but their role in this book is clear. I'd recommend Cold Secrets to any romantic suspense reader.

Cold Secrets brings us back to the dark side of justice and how sometimes lines have to be crossed to make sure the evil is put where it belongs. The evil this time around is sex traffickers of children. The author opens the story with quite a bang with undercover FBI Agent Lucas Randall going into a brothel to rescue a 8 year old who had recently been kidnapped. This group of traffickers are ruthless and dont care who they kill to keep from being caught. I am still cringing at the ages of the girls that were being used. The most interesting character though was Ashley Chen who works on the ciber part of crimes for the FBI. Her partner for this case is Mallory from the first book in the series. Ashley has such a strong sense of wanting justice for victims. Its not until the story unfolds that we see why she wants that and that she has been hiding some pretty big secrets. The story moved along at a pretty fast pace and didnt hold back on the sick and twisted moments. Edge of your seat thriller from beginning to end.

Absolutely excellent romantic thriller! The suspense is nail-biting, the romance is hot, and the plot is heart breaking yet heart warning. The characters are deep & very realistic. The beginning starts smooth & informative which helped me connect with characters, then the plot unfolds with a bang of action & intensity and the finale is jaw-dropping.. shocking! :) I love this series and each addition is able to maintain or excel. My heart went out to Ashley & the girls. Lucas is a hot sexy alpha. Both main characters are very dedicated intelligent agents. Of course Alex is the glue, lol. Looking forward to what's next for this series.
