About this ebook

In this essential Star Wars Legends novel, the sequel to Heir to the Empire, Grand Admiral Thrawn’s sinister plan threatens to spell doom for the fledgling New Republic and its most iconic heroes.

The dying Empire’s most cunning and ruthless warlord, Grand Admiral Thrawn, has taken command of the remnants of the Imperial Fleet and launched a massive campaign aimed at the New Republic’s destruction. Meanwhile, Han Solo and Lando Calrissian race against time to find proof of treason inside the highest Republic Council—only to discover instead a ghostly fleet of warships that could bring doom to their friends and victory to their enemies.

Yet most dangerous of all is a new Dark Jedi, risen from the ashes of a shrouded past, consumed by bitterness, and scheming to corrupt Luke Skywalker to the dark side.

Eh. Not sure why so many people hold this trilogy in such high esteem. It was ok, not great, but not horrible. The 2nd read through really points out alot of ridiculousness. The fact that this is considered the best of the Legends just proves that Disney did the right thing. The only ones worth reading are written by Zahn & even those aren't even close to being great. The rest are complete nonsense. I actually enjoyed Outbound Flight & the sequel to that(can't think of the name) much better than this trilogy. When you have to create a creature like Ysalamir because you aren't creative enough to think of any other way make a jedi's life tough than you're not very creative. Oh, & Luuke!? Lmao! That's hilariously bad!

It's a plotline that revolves around a ton of extremely unlikely coincidences. All the characters happen to be in the right place at the right time because plot. And when there are multiple plot threads with various characters and none of then are at all interesting, it's hard to justify reading on.

This one's my favorite of the Thrawn trilogy! Nothing beats lighting a fire under the good guy's plot-armored butts!
