I've just completed the series in a week. So this is a whole story review, not just book 1. Overall really enjoyed it, a typical wolf story but sometimes that's all you want. The relationship between Emma & her brother is a bit much though, I understand he loves her but it's borderline insest, she doesn't need to live sat on his lap with him kissing her head constantly. Things are repeated alot, something is said then a few short paragraphs later it's basically said again -no need. Lots of typos and wrong words caused by rushing to get the books out in such a short time frame. Time frames within the story where annoying at times. e.g cabin 10min from packhouse, hunter sent away for shower, says he will be back in 15min. Ended with an awful lot of mates being formed within the inner circle, basically cousins & already relations. Widen the circle! Is she Sophie or Sophia? Choose one, it's not the same name. Fia & lex don't need to live in each other's arms again they're twins not lovers.

It's not a bad book but it kind of felt like I was reading about characters who were teens playing dress up. I found the characters a bit weak. The alpha is a bit of a wet noodle who stomps around yelling "she's mine!" every 2 seconds and acts like a grumpy teen who can't control his temper. The female lead is supposed to be so strong and yet she wallows in self pity most of the time and let's people walk all over her and also has a brother who is borderline creepy with her. I think the plot was good though and this is probably an amazing book for young adults but as a mature reader I found it lacked depth and strength of character.

This whole book is painful to read. The misspelling, poor grammar, a weak plot and horrible paragraph structure, missing letters in a word, over use of "love", "baby", "little one". Oh and any situation of frustration or anger "he ran his hand through his hair". Reusing sentences or phrases. The characters are one dimensional. The brotherly "love" is creepy. An older brother does not treat his younger sister like that. The whole "pick me" fantasy is cringey. Do they not employ editors anymore? This is clearly a 7th graders writing of a "True Blood/Twilight" fanfic. At most an eleventh grader who's been failing at English. There's no way an adult wrote this. Best thing I can say is it's a creative premise, but it feels like it's been stolen.
