Mislabeled: This is actually book 2. I'm enjoying this book but disappointed that I find out after I began reading that this has been mislabeled as the 1st book when it's actually the 2nd. Fortunately it's a pretty good starting place. It does seem to be where the tv series starts off, from what I can remember. Anyway I'm enjoying it but would have preferred to start from where the original series began. -1 star 🌟 for being mislabeled.

This was one of my favorite fantasy novels, and nothing comes close to it after all these years. It is a well-paced romp full of adventure, heroism, despair and hope. If anyone wants to sample Terry Brooks' work, this book is his best.

It's actually worse than the terrible TV show as you aren't even entertained by some decent special effects. Both book and TV show are examples of the worst pulp fiction and no better than a soap opera.
