About this ebook

The fourth novel in the #1 New York Times and #1 USA Today bestselling Crossfire series.

Gideon calls me his angel, but he’s the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own.

The vows we'd exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn’t sure I was strong enough to bear.

At the brightest time in our lives, the darkness of his past encroached and threatened everything we’d worked so hard for. We faced a terrible choice: the familiar safety of the lives we’d had before each other or the fight for a future that suddenly seemed an impossible and hopeless dream...

I don't know if my rating will change once I'm finished reading. I don't even know IF I'll finish reading this book. I've read the others, which I really enjoyed, but this is just not connecting with me so far. Every other sentence is Gideon or Eva reiterating how mad they are for each other which is usually described in some metaphorical way which becomes overkill after awhile. And it's like, okay we get it by now. I'm trying but I can't seem to get into it. Sylvia dropped the ball with this one.

This book is a total waste. There was no point to it. There were random events which took place between gratuitous sex scenes just to fill pages. It would have been OK of the story and flow was good. It just wasn't. There was no plot development. And what happened to Alpha male Gideon?! He became a bumbling cry baby. Men should not be afraid to show their sensitive some but this was way over the top.

Pretty disappointed after waiting so long for this book only to have it end with out anything major happening. There was a little surprise that I won't ruin, but it just wasn't enough. It took me several days to read this book unlike the others that I couldn't put down. I also think with so much time between this and the last I forgot about the story line. I will read the next book but I not nearly as excited as I once was.
