Fair warning. Midnighter is one of my all time favorite comic book characters regardless of who is writing his books so I am a bit prejudice about any comics involving him. That said, Steve Orlando does a wonderful job of developing Midnighter's personality and exploring the relationship between Midnighter and Apollo. This trade paperback can be read as a standalone, but the story makes more sense if you have read either previous Stormwatch trades or the Midnighter series by Steve Orlando. As a super powered couple, Apollo and Midnighter have seen more than their fair share of conflict. This story follows them through yet another conflict that could end with dire consequences. I am glad I waited for the trade paperback because waiting each month to read the next comic would have left me stressed out! Meh. I will give away the story if I explain why I enjoyed this trade so much. If you like superheroes, m/m, and suspense, you will enjoy this trade.

Depressing comic book deconstruction. The superhero-yarn equivalent of John Legend's Y-Tube diaper ad jingle "Stinky Booty Duty."
