About the author

Born in 1948, Joe Staton began his career as an artist and inker in various fanzines and small press comics in the 1960s. He made his first big professional splash as the co-creator of Charlton ComicsÕ E-Man in the early 1970s. After producing other genre work for that company, he moved on in the late 1970s to begin a long association with DC Comics, where he was perhaps most associated with GREEN LANTERN. In the 1980s Staton became the art director for First! Comics (1982-86) as well as contributing pencils and inks for Marvel, Eclipse, Malibu and Apple Comics. He currently draws the syndicated Dick Tracy comic strip for Tribune Media.
