I guess the years have changed me. Had I read this when it first came out, I would have been floored by the prose. Now, I just wanted the story to progress without all the cheesy cliches passing as dialogue. I had to remind myself that King comes from that generation where hokey sayings littered everyday vernacular. I kept thinking of my mom saying her own hokey fillers that had become predictable to me every time we talked, and that helped me stop rolling my eyes so much while I powered through this bo

With hauntingly written events, a short but amazing plot and an ever climbing ending to stop you breathing: Gerald's Game is truly one of King's best.

I have read almost all of Stephen King's novels and short stories and Gerald's Game is one of my absolute favorites! Very eerie and unexpected. Great novel!
