Not much later, Jake’s friend Al, who runs the local diner, divulges a secret: his storeroom is a portal to 1958. He enlists Jake on an insane—and insanely possible—mission to try to prevent the Kennedy assassination. So begins Jake’s new life as George Amberson and his new world of Elvis and JFK, of big American cars and sock hops, of a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald and a beautiful high school librarian named Sadie Dunhill, who becomes the love of Jake’s life – a life that transgresses all the normal rules of time.

Ratings and reviews

I read this for my book club, that debuted with this novel. I would prefer non-fiction and something of praiseworthy content. I can check it off the list and hope the next book does me some good...or I'm out of the club.

Google play books told me this was on sale for 2.99. I went to buy it and it wanted to charge me 13 something for it. Fix it and I will change my rating.

I've always been a huge King fan. His writing style and his penchant for massive amounts of details always keeps me coming back. You "Constant Readers" know what I am talking about. This book is no different, while it is not the typical blood, gore and horror we are accustomed to from King, it is a wonderful book. I highly recommend reading it, so come on Jimla, step on through the rabbit hole and enjoy!
