I read this book almost 30 years ago as I began committing to the devotion to praying the rosary every day. The rosary is spiritual prayer we need every day to help us be at our practical best. It provides a peaceful way to live our lives as we contemplate 20 of the mysteries of the life of Jesus and Mary, through whom the Holy Spirit acted-- all by the will of God the Father. St Louis Marie de Montfort, a holy saint, was devoted to mother Mary and writes about devotion to the rosary in one of the very best books ever written on the rosary.

My dad used to work in a post office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and most Catholic books coming through the post office, if there is no one to take it they were teying to trash the books but mu dad being a devout catholic he used to say i will take it, hoping we will read it one day; this book was one of so many books and rosaries he brought. Thank you babaye. It is such a powetful book, full of The Fire of The Holy Spirit. I read it 8 yrs ago and it touched me in a great way. I can not express how i love it and God willing, i will read it again.

For the person in the reviews that said that they cannot find the Rosary in the Bible, i suggest they have a glance at the mysteries and see that 98% of the Rosary is from the Bible!!! Anyways, the writings of St Louis Marie de Montfort on Mary and the Rosary are one of the best out there!

About the author

The author of The Secret of the Rosary and the originator of total consecration to Mary, St. Louis-Marie Grignion De Montfort (1673-1716) remains one of the greatest apostles of Marian devotion the world has ever known. As a young priest, De Montfort dedicated himself to preaching to the people. This highly gifted orator's language was simple but full of divine love, much as you will find in True Devotion to Mary. De Montfort's whole life was marked by constant prayer, love for the poor and holy joy in humiliations and persecutions. De Montfort was canonized by Pius XII in 1947.
