His original party was COMPLETELY RIGHT! He didn't belong in their party! Very simple observation! If everyone else was grabbing some extra cash, he should have too! He didn't need to waste it like the others did! Anyway, the first sad story of 4, the guy is outspoken in a good way but abrasive to others. His party leader is a father figure who feels like he's holding the kid back so pushes him out into the world. Let's see how far I make it. I've given it an average 4 star. Well, I can't quite get to the end of the free sample without updating this review! First sad story is a C-rank team that would instantly be an A-rank team if they could only find a mage for their party! The very next sad story is a down and out mage who can't find a job because there way too many mages (good ones too) around. So, you're thinking just hook up one with the other (any reasonable person would) except the two people l'm talking about are in the same town! So are there too many mages or not?! Well that's a minus one on stars, and now we're at three! Honestly, both characters are somewhat clueless but in a kind-hearted way, so I really would like to give more stars, not less. Hopefully, continuity issues don't become a deal breaker!

Unfortunately this one does a very poor job. The MC's motivations make no sense especially since it was very blatant he was not betrayed, just that he needed to move on in order to grow. The other character's background stories are legitimate betrayals that would have devastating long lasting impacts. PTSD levels of impact, but it barely holds any sway. The entire premise of this book is the members of the party cannot trust others, yet they are easily trusting others. It is a book that cannot make up its mind.
