About this ebook

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shelly Laurenston follows the explosive success of Hot and Badgered with the second installment in her sizzingly outrageous series, this time featuring a heroine who is half tiger, half honey badger shifter, and fully living her truth.

Petite, kind, brilliant, and young, Stevie is nothing like the usual women bodyguard Shen Li is interested in. Even more surprising, the youngest of the lethal, ball-busting, and beautiful MacKilligan sisters is terrified of bears. But she’s not terrified of pandas. She loves pandas.

Which means that whether Shen wants her to or not, she simply won’t stop cuddling him. He isn’t some stuffed Giant Panda, ya know! He is a Giant Panda shifter. He deserves respect and personal space. Something that little hybrid is completely ignoring.

But Stevie has a way of finding trouble. Like going undercover to take down a scientist experimenting on other shifters. For what, Shen doesn’t want to know, but they’d better find out. And fast. Stevie might be the least violent of the honey badger sisters, but she’s the most dangerous to Shen’s peace of mind. Because she has absolutely no idea how much trouble they’re in . . . or just how damn adorable she is.

***4 Stars*** Oh, how I love the crazy this world provides. I really do and that’s exactly why I read these books. I love the over the top interactions and reactions of these very unique characters and they never fail to have me laughing out loud at their antics and this one gave me exactly that. I laughed out loud, rolled my eyes and did my best to keep up with everything going on (which can be difficult at times) and though I am a bit exhausted thanks to the crazy, I definitely want more! Now, the thing with these books, this world (and many of the authors other worlds) I don’t really read them for the romance, in part because I find the crazy more interesting, but mostly because the romance doesn’t follow any normal path and sometimes just “Happens” and the majority of the time the couple in question totally work, as it did Stevie and Shen. On the surface they shouldn’t work, the genius and the ‘bodyguard’, but Shen soothes Stevie’s anxiety in a way most can’t. She, in turn, does tend to drive him batshitcrazy, but he ends up loving her mind and how she keeps him on his toes. Antagonistic, but loving friends and families, inhumane experiments, baking and lots and lots of threats of bodily harm, this one had all kinds of crazy going on and it all worked for me. I loved catching up with Charlie, Berg and Max, and getting to hang out with Kyle, Oriana and the rest of the crazy cast of characters that they come into contact with. And as for the ending...I’m definitely looking forward to getting my hands on the next book! ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~

Stevie MacKilligan is a honey badger hybrids, a brilliant scientist and terrified of bears. Shen Li is a panda bodyguard for a child genius that Stevie is mentoring. Stevie and her sisters are vicious hybrids because their no-good loser father liked to play the field. He also robbed another branch of the family of millions. When shifter bodies start turning up, partially shifted in death, Stevie is sure that someone is trying to cure shifters, something she desperately wants to do because her hybrid is hugely destructive and uncontrollable, she also think she knows who it might be. Let me start by saying I love Shelly Laurenston and I love her books but I have to say this one did nothing for me, I felt like it was a roll-call of characters from every previous book just thrown into the mix, there were too many plots and too many characters. Stevie was bit like Irene Conridge (who features in this book) but not as good, in fact I think that having so many much-loved characters in this book just highlighted that Stevie and Shen just weren't as memorable. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book (hey, its still Shelly Laurenston, one of the funniest writers on the planet) but compared to some of her previous books this was a bit of a hot mess. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

In a Badger Way by Shelly Laurenston is the second book in The Honey Badger Chronicles. This book is a stand alone novel that is written in the Pride series shifter world. It is an incredible read because the characters in it are so funny, snarky, and likeable. This book focuses on Stevie Mackilligan the youngest of the three sisters Charlie, Max, and Stevie, who are all honey badger shifters and a panda shifter named Shen. It is so humorous when read it made me LOL and kept my attention because the story is wonderful and full of interesting twists and turns. This book a great addition to the any readers bookshelf. Note that this series is intertwined with the Pride series and the wonderful world of the characters in it. Furthermore, all of the books in these series are a great read and I recommend you read them all!
