This book had a lot of potential, and I liked certain plot points, but I don't think the author did the character of Sally justice. She's a lot more uncertain and scared than she is from the original. And I believe too much of the book was centered on her thinking of how unfit she is as a queen rather than the interesting plot points they had for the rest of the book

This book came across my mind around 3AM and I bought it twice. As an Ebook and as a paper copy. I delved in and fell in love with the writing style and the creativity. Shea has perfectly captured how i imagine the love beteen Jack and Sally to be, and i loved it so much, I read the whole thing in one sitting! Needless to say, I couldn't stop until I finished. I love the uniqueness of the characters. I felt Sally's emotions so well that I feel like I know Sally personally after this story. I can honestly say, I cant wait to read this again. It was wonderfully immersive experience into my favourite world.

This book read like I was watching a movie, all the intricate details of the original NbC woven in perfectly. Reading about all the townspeople and the adventures that Sally had, really showed that Jack chose the right one. Sally is not just a Queen, but she is a Queen they needed. I cheered reading this. The Magnificent Tim Burton may have created The Nightmare before Christmas, but Shea Ernshaw certainly did Halloween Town and its King, Queen, and townspeople justice.
