Ratings and reviews

I found the first book to be building a fascinating world, while I could not care much for the characters. Whatever didn't click then, certainly clicked in this book - the world is as fascinating as before, but now Baru is someone who's story I'm truly interested in following.

Monster is a different beast from Traitor. It has to be. The reveal from Traitor is done, and we cannot go back to that moment of shock and terror. There's so much that happened here, and so much that didn't. So much that is set up for more in the future. It's all excellent, with many moments of, "You gotta be kidding me!" and I feel like I need to flop down on a fainting couch now that I've finished reading it. If you enjoyed the first book any at all, continue, there is so much story left to tell.
