About this ebook

A new comedy from the USA Today bestselling duo!

Mac

A good cop can always spot trouble. That’s why my senses started pinging the moment I met the hottie next door. The neighborhood may never be the same. First she confuses me for a male stripper and tries to remove my uniform. (The guys on the force will never let me live that down.) And then there’s the breaking and entering.

I don’t know what to do with her. My libido has a few ideas of its own, though. Bad, bad ideas.

Meg

Hey, I it’s not my fault that Hot Cop’s nightstick gets excited every time we see each other. And I can’t help that someone broke into his apartment.

Fine—that last thing was totally my fault. And I intend to make amends. So when he needs a date for his sister’s wedding, I’m there. This is right up my alley. I’m an actor. By the time it’s over, his entire family will believe we’re a couple.

Even him.

Warning: may cause unrestrained giggling in public. Contains: a bridezilla with a turkey leg, a flash mob, and a growly hero.

If Liam McAllister from Boy Toy is my favorite main male character in the Man Hands series, then Meg Matthews has just become my new favorite main female character! I adored the spunk that Meg had all throughout. Sure, her acting career may be floundering at best for most of the book, but she refused to feel like a failure, refocusing her energy on other stuff (which you'll find out about once you read the book!). She was her own person and a work in progress, but she always focused on the positive, and that, more than anything else, is what I loved most about her. Now, Mac was a guy who had his issues when it came to relationships, and yes, he was justified in feeling the way he did considering his history (again, go read the book, people!). These two tried to resist their mutual attraction, and I feel that this also allowed them to forge a friendship with each other. Having said that, Meg and Mac--or as I've dubbed them, M&M--brought on the heat alongside the romance and humor and even a bit of angst. Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby did NOT disappoint (and I need more!)! Man Cuffed snags five-plus stars. ♥

You know, (or at least you hope), you’re in for a good time when you’re already laughing 2% into a book! And lucky for me, and you, the laughs continued throughout Man Cuffed. But what’s really great about Meg and Mac’s story was the way Bowen and Eby were able to balance the humor with the more emotional aspects of their story - it wasn’t all laughs as they worked their way towards a hea, but it sure was an entertaining journey. Meg and Mac are opposites in many ways, not least of all when it comes to romance. Meg’s looking for her happily ever after, while Mac wants nothing to do with commitment, after being burned in the past. It all starts to change when Mac asks Meg for a favor… I enjoyed this fake-relationship/friends-to-lovers romance. Yes, Mac had a lot of issues to work through, but I appreciated how upfront he was with Meg from the get-go, and that Meg was willing to accept his “conditions”. They had such a great relationship and I liked how they played off each other. Mac reminded me of a big grumbly teddy bear, while Meg is this big ball of energy and light. Neither one expected things to progress between them the way they did, especially Mac, but when the chemistry, and feelings, are there, it’s hard to deny them. Because of Mac’s history, there is some back and forth before he accepts the inevitable and realizes falling in love won’t always end in heartbreak. I'm just going to throw it out there and join those hoping that Lance gets his own book. He was such a delight!

Man Cuffed starts with a random encounter between Meg and Mac who is mistaken for a stripper. The chemistry between the pair is instantaneous and incendiary. Although circumstances don’t allow for any sort of exploration of the pheromones invading the air. That is until fate takes charge and Meg magically becomes Mac’s next-door neighbour. Sadly, Mac already has a friend with benefits (which I completely hated) however, this doesn’t seem to deter Meg who recognises something special when she feels it. There are some hilarious situations within Man Cuffed especially as Meg is an actress and has a propensity towards drama. Which is also the complete opposite of Mac’s stoicism; surprisingly their differences make their friendship natural and comfortable despite the electricity flowing between them. As their friendship develops following the departure of Mac’s female buddy, it is increasingly difficult for Mac to maintain his boundaries with Meg especially as she likes to push his buttons. The heat between Mac and Meg inevitably leads to a giant fire, however, Mac has a lot of emotional baggage which prevents him from lowering his barriers to allow him to become vulnerable with anyone, not just Meg. Luckily, Mac has an amazing support system in his family which he hadn’t realised until this point, allowing him to come to terms with past events and move forward to find his own happily ever after. I have to mention the fantastic Flash Mob within the narrative, I would be completely on board for something like that, just saying 😂
