Act out the story of a young boy's dream that sends him and his friend on the mathematical journey of a lifetime! In the dream, Jacob and Adam meet a genie and get onboard a boat with him. They have to solve math problems to keep their boat moving and keep the adventure going! This exciting story helps make difficult math concepts seem simple and entertaining! The six roles in this script match different reading levels, enabling teachers to use differentiation and English language learner strategies. These strategies allow all students to engage in the same activity, regardless of their current reading level. All students can feel successful and can gain confidence in their reading fluency. Students can also practice reading aloud, interacting cooperatively, and using expressive voices and gestures while performing the story together. About the author

Sarah Kartchner Clark, Ph.D., has been writing and publishing curriculum for many years, with much of her work published in national and international literacy and teacher education journals. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and her Master's degree in Language, Reading, and Culture from the University of Arizona. She earned her Ph.D. from Utah State University where she is currently an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education. Dr. Clark's research focuses on literacy education, teacher preparation, support for novice teachers, and support for struggling readers.
