About this ebook

Lethal. Loyal. Legendary.

Enter the world of Throne of Glass with the first book in the #1 bestselling series by Sarah J. Maas.

In a land without magic, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She has no love for the vicious king who rules from his throne of glass, but she has not come to kill him. She has come to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three murderers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she will be released from prison to serve as the King's Champion.

Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. And a princess from a faraway country will befriend her. But something rotten dwells in the castle, and it's there to kill. When her competitors start dying mysteriously, one by one, Celaena's fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival-and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.

Thrilling and fierce, Throne of Glass is the first book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series that has captivated readers worldwide.

Very slow going. Action is way at the end. It is definitely learning about characters first. Hoping the next on is better. I have liked all her (Maas) other work. Though I have been reading all her books backwards. newest to oldest. Love her 🌙 series. and I love the Court of Thorns. I just hope this one picks up. I will read the second and if it is as slow going I'll probably move on. So looking forward to the next books in her other series though. She definitely gets better and better I can see how she became a better and better author. Just don't want to waste money on these old ones. Such long waiting for these in my library apps. I don't know why for this one but I guess people were like me going through wanting more with her others. I will let people know if the second book Picks up I already bought it. 🙄 takes me about 3-4 days to read a book.

And I had to close it because it was awful. I was expecting the main character Calaena to actually be an assassin, but a immature, and vain teenager was what I got out of it. She was just way out of element to the title that claims her. The main character is an insult to heroine characters out there in general. Clearly the author needs to read books like Assassin's Creed or Shadow Prowler to learn what an assassin is all about.

I loved this book. Couldn't put it down. That's saying something as I am an avid reader and usually disappointed by fantasy books. The writing, storyline and characters were so vivid. I felt a part of the intrigue and grinned when the Assassin was victorious. Her story is deep and shadowy and makes you feel like you need to keep reading to know her more and more. The subtle love stories also play such an intriguing part, reminding you that she's still just a young woman despite all she's been through and all she will have to do to survive. I truly loved it. Looking forward to reading the next one.
