Um livro que me esclareceu sobre os dilemas éticos que a gente enfrenta no dia a dia. Em português, o título do livro é " como escolher na vida entre o certo e o certo", da editora Gente. O livro não trata de discutir entre o certo e o errado, o que eu acho ótimo. O livro vai além do básico. Destaca quatro dilemas éticos que enfrentamos: Verdade vs lealdade Indivíduo vc comunidade Curto prazo vs longo prazo Justiça vs compaixão. Eu li este livro depois de uma pergunta que um jovem profissional me fez: "é ético alterar um processo dentro de uma empresa se isso significa que pessoas irão perder seu emprego"? Good question! A minha proposta foi pensar em outra pergunta: como alterar um processo dentro de uma empresa e garantir que as pessoas sejam afetadas de forma positiva pela mudança? Se a gente consegue sair do dilema e encontrar uma terceira alternativa, talvez a gente esteja realmente promovendo as mudanças for good. Se não for possível, como a gente deve se comportar de forma a viver em paz com nossas decisões?

About the author

Rushworth M. Kidder was a professor of English at Wichita State University for ten years before becoming an award-winning columnist and editor at the Christian Science Monitor. The author of ten books on subjects ranging from international ethics to the global future, he won the 1980 Explicator Literary Foundation Award for his book on the poetry of E.E. cummings. He and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Lincolnville, Maine.
